What we do
- we report the claim to the at-fault driver's insurer (OC) or to your own (AC),
- we gather the documents and supply whatever the insurer asks for,
- we help arrange the inspection of your car,
- we check the estimate and the decision before you accept them,
- we keep track of deadlines and keep you updated.
At-fault driver's OC or your own AC?
If another driver caused the accident, the claim is made under their OC (third-party liability) policy. Their insurer should then cover the necessary and economically justified costs of restoring your car to its pre-accident condition.
You use your AC (comprehensive) policy when you caused the damage yourself or the at-fault driver is unknown. What you get then depends on your policy. Not sure which way to go? We'll advise you.
How long the insurer has
For a claim under the at-fault driver's OC, the insurer generally has 30 days from the report to pay. If the circumstances couldn't be clarified within that time, it pays within 14 days of clarifying them, but no later than 90 days from the report – unless the outcome depends on criminal or civil proceedings.
For AC (comprehensive) the deadline is generally also 30 days from the report (Article 817 of the Polish Civil Code), unless your policy provides for a shorter one.
What to prepare
- the at-fault driver's statement or the police report number,
- the at-fault car's registration number and its insurer (or policy number),
- your car's registration certificate,
- photos of the damage and of the scene,
- if the claim is already reported – the claim number and letters from the insurer (estimate, decision).
